Honoring Our Veterans

Veterans Day 2016 | HSLDA Blog

When our perils are past, shall our gratitude sleep?” -George Canning

Today we come together as a nation to honor and celebrate our heroes who have sacrificed their time and their lives to faithfully serve this great Nation. These brave men and women have fought for our freedoms and rights as citizens of the United States of America. Including such freedoms as our freedom of speech, freedom of religion, and freedom to homeschool. They keep this nation safe, at home and abroad, for families to teach their children as they see fit.

Let’s remember to take a moment to thank a Veteran today for their service. You can also volunteer for your local veterans-service organization. Check out the U.S. Department of Veteran Affairs to see where you can serve.

The land of the FREE, because of the BRAVE.

Let’s continue to honor and serve our veterans by living our lives in a way that respects the values they live by: service, sacrifice, duty, and country.

And to all the veterans out there: today, and every day, we thank you. Never forget this country both thanks you and needs you. We need your courage, your ability, your resolve, both abroad and at home. Thank you for your dedication and service to this great country.

What are some ways you can honor our Veterans today, and throughout the year?
