FOOD & DRINKS

Honey Mint Green Iced Tea

iced tea

She makes life pretty sweet, right? Show her just how sweet by making this refreshing Honey Mint Green Iced Tea from Will Cook For Smiles. It’s got mint, green tea, honey, and a touch of vanilla to make it extra delicious.

Parfaits

yogurt

This year, give her the gift of health. Rather than making carb-loaded desserts, try bowls of Greek yogurt with sliced strawberries and blueberries drizzled with honey. Sprinkle some nuts or granola on top for an extra treat. It’s the dessert that loves her back – and she’ll love you for it.

Reuben Dip

Let’s get real: no celebration is complete without a little indulgence. This decadent, yet simple Slow Cooker Reuben Dip from All Recipes will be a party in her mouth. Melt some Swiss Cheese on top, pair with pita chips, and watch her try and stay away from it (hint: she won’t be able to).

Kale Chips

kale chips

Eating veggies doesn’t have to be boring! The Kitchn is an excellent resource for all-things-food, but they hit the ball out of the park with their kale chips. Spice it up with some Sriracha, parmesan and pepper, or paprika and chipotle seasoning.

Baked Parmesan Zucchini

zuchinni

Finish your veggie spread with this Baked Parmesan Zucchini (who said a veggie spread has to be carrots, broccoli, and ranch dressing?). Diethood has a recipe for Baked Parmesan Zucchini – quarter them lengthwise and spice it up a little more. We won’t tell if you add more cheese.

Parmesan and Asiago Cheese Roasted Tomatoes

tomatoes

I’m completely obsessed with tomatoes. And cheese. This is a recipe for tomatoes AND cheese, and I have to share it. Cooking Classy has got me starry-eyed over their Parmesan and Asiago Cheese Roasted Tomatoes, and I would be doing you a disservice if I didn’t pass it on.

DIY

Coffee Face Mask

coffee

Help her pamper herself! This face mask will leave her skin moisturized and glowing.

Instructions: Ground two tablespoons of coffee until it resembles a fine powder. Combine with two tablespoons of honey and mix well.

Application: Massage mask onto face using circular motions. Leave on face for twenty minutes before rinsing.

PLAYLIST

Set Mom’s mood with this relaxing spring playlist. Listen on Spotify!

PINTEREST

From breakfast in bed to a family day out, everyone’s celebration looks a little bit different. Use our ideas to jumpstart your planning and let your favorite teacher know how appreciated she is. In case your favorite homeschool teacher is Dad, find fun activities on Pinterest that will show Dad how grateful you are for his love, time, and sacrifice. I have only been homeschooling for almost three years and in the time I have experienced many highs and lows. One thing remains constant, I love to watch my children learn about how loving and compassionate God is toward us. Teaching them how to memorize scripture and read His word has been a true privilege! Teaching them to be unashamed of the gospel and be a disciple for him has been amazing! I really consider it a privilege and an honor to be able to homeschool them! This time has been a precious gift!

One of my favorite things about being a homeschool teacher is sharing life everyday with my kids – not just sharing a house.

One thing I love about being a homeschool teacher is knowing my kids’ strengths and weaknesses, so that I can better guide their education and minimize their frustrations.

We have been homeschooling for 16 years and the thing I appreciate most is the relationships that I have with all my kids. That would be missing if we would not been doing life together.

I love being a homeschool Mom! I have homeschooled my daughter from the beginning and she’s now finishing up 6th grade. We’ve had so many wonderful moments together that we wouldn’t have had otherwise. Sure there are difficult and stressful days, but I wouldn’t trade it!

I have been homeschooling for over 10 years and never been appreciatied in tangible ways for being a teacher, but the best appreciation to me was when I read my children’s scholarship essays and they wrote that homeschool had made them better people. Thanks HSLDA for your support.

I love having my children about me all day! I love that I know what they are learning, love cooking them wholesome meals at home, love it that I AM their “peer pressure”, love that we can start the day out with love and joy in the presence of our Saviour, and homeschooling is our lifestyle! I love all the hugs and kisses I get and knowing they are safe at home with me, and I love learning new things alongside of them. Homeschooling allows you to really see grace in action- it’s something we give and accept all day.

I have found one of the best things about homeschooling is that my kids are taking responsibility for their actions and work. They love checking off each subject as they finish it for the day. They are even beginning to understand why chores and housework are so important. Sometimes they complain but then again sometimes I do too. We are growing together and learning that work really is a gift from God, not an endless mundane movement through our days. I love having them with me at home.
