Spread the Word | Congress and Friends Need to Hear from You

Father Pushing Son on Tire Swing

To preserve parental rights, we need to make it an issue that the public knows and cares about. The first step is to make it known. I encourage you to speak with your family and friends this next week as you gather for the Fourth of July.

Congress also needs to hear from you!

With Congress on recess next week for July 4, there are only 10 business days left before the July 19 hearing in the House Constitution Subcommittee.

And while all your support and calls has brought the PRA to 65 cosponsors so far, there are still 97 past supporters or pledge signers who have not yet cosponsored. If these were only added, the amount of cosponsors would triple in the House!

Each and every Congressman needs a call, wether they have cosponsored before or not. I urge you to call your congressman and convey to them how important the PRA is to you. For an easier access, you can go to parentalrights.org/states to check on your lawmakers by clicking on your state. If they are already cosponsors, send them a note of thanks for their support. If they are nto already cosponsors, I urge you to call (their D.C. office number will be provided on your state page) them to join on. A sample message may be something like this:

As a constituent, I would urge the congressman to cosponsor HJRes110, the Parental Rights Amendment. I agree with the traditional right of fit parents to direct the upbringing and education of their children without undue government intrusion at any level. Incidentally, so do 93% of all Americans, according to a 2010 Zogby Poll. Loving parents can make better decisions for children than bureaucrats can. So please contact Rep. Trent Franks and sign on as a cosponsor of HJRes110, the Parental Rights Amendment, as soon as you can. I will call back in a couple of days to see how this is going.

Thank you for your support and for standing with us in these two ways in support of this vital Amendment. The security of the protection of parental rights could not be accomplished without you!
